It’s a place to relax, recharge, and reconnect with the people who matter, 20 minutes from Brunswick and about an hour from Portland.

Our story
This property has been in our extended family since the 1930s. The island was shaped by glaciers into a long strand of rock and spruce, and the back shore is where it is at its most peaceful.
Betty's Place came first. Barnacle followed in 2026 after a renovation of its kitchen and bathroom, keeping the character it has gathered over the decades. Our local team looks after both, so you can simply settle in.

Dogs are welcome at Barnacle. Betty's Place is pet free.
50% is due when you book and the balance 30 days before arrival. There is no security deposit.
Cancel 30 or more days before arrival for a full refund of your prepayment, or 14 or more days before for 50%. Cancellations after that are non-refundable.
No parties or large gatherings, please. These are quiet cottages with neighbors close by.
Yes. Both cottages have broadband Wi-Fi. Barnacle has air conditioning and ceiling fans, and Betty's Place has a window AC unit.

When booking, you must provide valid ID for verification and complete our online booking process. After your booking is confirmed, you will received an email with confirmation details.
For reservations made directly through our website, our cancellation policy is as follows: 100% refund until 30 days before check-in, 50% refund until 7 days before check in, less than 7 days before check-in is non-refundable. To request a cancellation, simply email us with your reservation number
Standard check-in time is at 4:00 PM and check-out time is at 10:00 AM. Any early check-in or late check-out is based on occupancy and availability and must be approved in advance.
